If you’ve been here before, you might notice that a few changes have been made to the blog. For starters, the Makeup Favorites post has been re-done and may well be made into a page for easier updating, I haven’t quite decided yet.
Next, you’ll notice a distinct lack of Avon products or discussion of those products. This is due to two things: first, I no longer sell Avon, second, Avon is not cruelty-free, which I’ll explain later in this post.
Finally, you’ll discover that this blog’s mission has greatly changed from a place to help me sell Avon to a place to talk about cruelty-free makeup, skin care, and personal care items.
So why don’t I sell Avon anymore? For one, I just wasn’t doing very well, which is a subject for another post if anyone is truly curious.
The other reason? Well, while New Avon LLC (the Avon you buy if you live in North America), says they don’t test on animals, they’re still partly owned by the original Avon company, still get product formulas from them, and still get products through them. They’re not allowed to say they’re cruelty-free and frankly, because Avon sells to China, which requires animal testing by law, they aren’t cruelty-free. And being a vegetarian and animal lover, I’m all about cruelty-free makeup, skin care, and personal care items.
So you’ll find that I’m making some changes to what I use, what I recommend, and what I will review. Until later…
