I am a makeup junkie. Ask my best friend. I recently purchased my third makeup case to hold all my makeup and she’s fairly certain it still won’t hold it all. LOL That being said, I obviously have a few things that make my favorites list.
Primer – e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer – I’ve found this primer works wonders! It’s inexpensive ($6.00 for a small bottle, $10.00 for a large bottle) and it works great. It helps keep my makeup in place and makes my face smooth and silky, which giving it just that little bit of tackiness to allow the foundation to adhere to my face and stay there.
Foundation – e.l.f. Oil Free Flawless Finish Foundation – I’ve used several different foundations and while this one isn’t my”absolute” favorite, it is my favorite so far that’s been cruelty-free. The last time I wore it I noticed some weird caking issues, but I’m chalking that up to a primer I hadn’t previously used before not working well with it, as when I used the e.l.f. Mineral Infused Primer with it, I didn’t have that issue.
Concealer –NYX HD Photogenic Liquid Concealer, NYX Dark Circle Corrector – I love the NYX HD Photogenic Liquid Concealer. Cream/stick concealers don’t work very well for me with the exception of NYX Dark Circle Corrector, so I’ve really been loving the NYX HD. The dark circle corrector I actually use on my dark circles (hello, college student life) and on my chin to disguise the shadows where I shave (that’s information for another post).
Eye Shadow – NYX Sexbomb Femme Fatale, Urban Decay Vice 4 (Amazon affiliate link), Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer palette – When I’m looking for a goth look (hello, goth?) that includes red eyeshadow, I often turn to the NYX Sexbomb palette. Two other palettes I’m in love with are Urban Decay’s VICE 4 (I rarely use it because it’s been discontinued by Urban Decay) and Jeffree Star’s Beauty Killer palette. I love the bold looks I can get with those two palettes.
Eyeliner – NYX Slide On Pencil, e.l.f. Cream Liner – I tend to line my waterline more than anything, and I “tight line” by lining the waterline of my upper lid. The only eyeliner that seems to do the trick for this for me are the NYX Slide On pencil. For lining my eyelids and doing any sort of winged liner, I tend to use the e.l.f. cream liner – although I don’t very often do that kind of eyeliner.
Lipstick – Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, NYX Liquid Suede Liquid Lipsticks, NYX Wicked Lippies – I prefer liquid lipsticks for the most part. The only non-liquid lipsticks I really like are NYX’s Wicked Lippies because I love, love, love the funky shades they come in. My favorites are Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipsticks because they go on easy and they stay on. I can eat, I can drink, and they stick around. I might need a minor touch up, but nothing like I do with regular lipsticks. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and Liquid Suede Liquid Lipsticks don’t have the staying power of the Jeffree Star Velour line, but they have a decent color selection, including some that Jeffree Star doesn’t have just yet. I will say they NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream passed a huge test when I wore the shade “Amethyst” for a 3 hour drive and to a rock concert and it wasn’t caked up or weird looking after the show. In fact, a friend commented she was surprised how great it still looked.
So there you have it… my favorite makeup products. Let me know if there’s anything I missed or that you’d like to see my favorites of!
